Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who developed Easy Picture Email?
A: I wrote it (Patrick DiRienzo) and distribute it as FREEWARE!!! It is a midnite and weekend venture that I enjoy.
Q: What is my outgoing SMTP email server that I should enter into the email setup?
A: Your Internet service provider (Verizon, Time Warner, etc) provides you with an outgoing SMTP email server. It is the same information that you would have entered into an email editor setup such as Microsoft Outlook provided you are using Microsoft Outlook. Check with your Internet provider, or their website, or initial documentation from them for this information if you do not know it. Also, the username and password entered into the email setup will be the same as those entered into an email editor such as Microsoft Outlook. This username and password that logs you into your email is often but not always the same username and password that logs you onto your Internet service provider.

Note: The following email servers and usernames cannot be guranteed. To be certain of your outgoing SMTP email server and username, you should contact your Internet service provider or email service provider.

Email Servers and Usernames for Internet Service Providers:

If your e-mail address ends with: @verizon.net Your outgoing SMTP email server should be set to: outgoing.verizon.net Your username should be set to: MyUsername
If your e-mail address ends with: @roadrunner.com Your outgoing SMTP email server should be set to: smtp-server.roadrunner.com Your username should be set to: MyUsername
If your e-mail address ends with: @frontier.com @frontiernet.net @citlink.net @ctaz.com @newnorth.net @epix.net @gvni.com Your outgoing SMTP email server should be set to: smtp.frontier.com Your username should be set to: MyUsername@MyEmailAddress (i.e. your username is your full email address such as MyUsername@frontiernet.net)
Email Servers and Usernames for Online Email services such Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, GMail:
If your e-mail address ends with: @yahoo.com Your outgoing SMTP email server should be set to: smtp.mail.yahoo.com Your username should be set to: MyUsername@yahoo.com If your e-mail address ends with: @yahoo.com (and you have Yahoo Plus) Use your Internet Service Provider's outgoing SMTP email server

Q: Why do some people receive my email, and others don't?
A: Some email editors reject email with pictures embedded in the email (or even attachments) as spam if the sender is unknown. Or it may put your email in the recipient's spam folder and the recipient may be unaware of this. Their email editor may consider the sender to be unknown if the sender has never been replied to, or if the sender is not in the address book. Ask your email recipients to put you in their address book to assure that your email sent by Easy Picture Email is received in their inbox.
Q: I have entered all of my email information and emails are going out, but I never receive the email
A: In an effort to prevent email spamming, some internet service providers are blocking the default email port 25. Try using another port such as 587 (edit email settings) or contact your internet service provider to request that they not block port 25 or fill out their opt-out of blocking port 25 form. Also note that even if they open port 25, they may still require that you use their outgoing SMTP email server/account. Additionally, I am always happy to assist you, just send me an email.
Q: Why won't Easy Picture Email send emails with my SMTP server from work, yet it sends emails with my SMTP email server from home successfully?
A: Your employer (IT administrator) may be blocking access to outside email servers (IP addresses) or ports.
Q: I do not see the built-in Internet browser window for displaying pictures, when I click on the Preview Pictures or Preview Email button?
A: If you are using a screen resolution less than 1024 x 768, the Internet browser window may not be showing at the bottom of the screen, when Easy Picture Email is started. Click on and drag the window border at the bottom of the screen upward, in order to reveal the Internet browser window. In order to use the Internet browser window, Windows Internet Explorer must be installed on your machine (the usual case for most Windows users).
